PLANS EXAMINER

Interwest Consulting Group is seeking an experienced and motivated ICC Certified Plans Examiner with a minimum of three years experience performing plan reviews within a municipal building department to join our Building and Safety Group. This is an exceptional opportunity to become a key member of our highly qualified, collaborative and motivated plans examination team.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Review building plans and related documents for compliance with California Building Codes, policies and jurisdiction requirements for commercial, industrial and residential buildings.
  • Projects include new residential buildings, and remodel projects.
  • Assist homeowners, designers and contractors by providing information and interpretations of building codes and regulations, recommend necessary changes to design documents as required to obtain compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Responsible for preparing written correction letters and maintaining and updating records and database information.
  • Work with building inspectors to resolve field related code issues and coordinate activities with other city departments as directed.

Bureau Veritas of North America, seeks to hire an experienced Business Development Manager for our San Francisco Bay Area – Code Compliance Division.

The Business Development Manager, will report to the VP of the region and will have responsibility for leading this business unit in developing and growing our Code Compliance and Building Safety business lines. This position will also develop specific growth strategies to generate leads and market awareness directly leading to revenue growth in the San Francisco Bay Area- with governmental agencies and private developers.

-Develops/directs the execution of a local/regional marketing plan in order to establish and maintain effective client profiling activities to identify opportunities.

-Develops/ implements sales plans, objectives and forecasts, and directs the execution of approved sales plans, marketing programs, and promotional activities of new and existing services and products.

-Generates revenue growth through leading direct sales activities including opportunity identification, pipeline management, evaluation, negotiations and deal execution, focusing on core services of code compliance / building safety services for municipal governments and private developments.

BS/BA in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Science, Business or Marketing, with 5 years + experience in building safety with municipal governments, 2 or more years presenting services to municipalities or other local government entities. CBO/ Building Official experience in lieu of degree is accepted.

Experience with private third party, profit-driven firms is highly desired.

Should have credentials to perform inspection services and understanding of client procurement processes for code compliance and building inspection services related to infrastructure

Road warrior role with 50% travel in the Bay Area
