Attendees will be given a brief overview of the California Solar Permitting Guidebook, published by the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR); a brief overview of key statutes that affect jurisdictional authority related to Solar PV installations; be presented with ideas to simplify project approval by local code enforcement officials; learn more about the Standard Solar PV Electrical Plans; gain a better understanding of how to apply fire-resistive/fire protection standards to Solar PV assemblies; learn when to classify raised Solar PV support structures as occupied buildings or as mechanical equipment; learn about the integration of State Fire Marshal Solar PV guidelines into the 2013 California Building Code; and more….

The Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, Facilities Development Division preempts local building jurisdictions in the state of California for enforcement of hospital and skilled nursing facility building standards. The Office carries out this enforcement through a plan review, permitting and construction oversight process. In addition to these responsibilities, the Office develops regulations adopted into the California Building Standards Code, Title-24 for California health facilities licensed by the Department of Health Services Licensing and Certification Unit (hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, clinics and correctional treatment centers).
