Class Synopsis: This seminar is designed for Permit Technicians and Building Inspectors, Plan Checkers, and Building Officials who should understand the happenings at the front counter, the place of primary interaction with customers. The seminar will cover the importance of customer service, State Contractors License Board requirements, owner-builder permits, several state laws, who can stamp and sign drawings, errata’s and supplemental pages to the California Codes, determining location specific information (climate zone, wind speed, seismic, etc.), and basic code requirements such as energy, accessibility CalGreen, etc.

Instructors
Elizabeth Rider- Ms. Rider works for CSG Consultants, is certified as and has served as Building Official, Building Inspector, Plans Examiner, and Permit Tech for numerous CSG clients and several jurisdictions. Liz has been instrumental in training on Permit Technician and Plan Reviewer responsibilities, both for the Tri-chapter and CSG. She helped to create the ICC Military Families program.
Crickett Brinkman- Ms. Brinkman leads the CSG Academy, a program to train people to enter the Building industry. Crickett is involved in all aspects of the industry, training students, serving chapters, encouraging collaboration, managing a business, and operating a city Building Department, where students get real-life exposure.
Mike Brinkman- Mr. Brinkman is employed by CSG Consultants and is certified in multiple disciplines including Certified Access Specialist, Building Official, and Master Code Professional, the highest level of ICC certification. Mike has extensive knowledge in all aspects of construction and the operation of Building Departments. He has authored the Residential Building Inspection Training Guide, an ICC publication. Mike has taught many seminars and received the 2017 CALBO Course Development Award for his work.
