Making Sense of Title 24, Part 6 for Alterations & New Work

Synopsis: Does finding your way through Title 24/Part 6 still give you difficulties? Having trouble pointing your permit applicants in the right direction, when all they want to do is change out HVAC, a water heater, roofing, or lighting? Stumped when a permit applicant asks you if that is the only form needed for their project?
Then you’ll want to attend this informative training session, focusing on getting small common projects permitted quickly, and in understanding just what is required to do so. Chris Olvera (CEC Staff), will help you get a grip on the issues you face in slotting a project into a permit framework. You’ll learn:
Chris will give you pointers to get your plan checks started in the right direction, and to navigate your way to the right combinations of forms, for common permit applications. You won’t want to miss this interactive event.

Instructor: Christopher Olvera has over a dozen years of experience at the California Energy Commission. He began work as a student on the Energy Standards Hotline, fielding questions from the design, building, and enforcing industries, and has served in several other positions, supporting a variety of programs. Recently, Chris was promoted to Supervisor for the Outreach and Education Unit that develops training tools, presentations, and communications, to educate Building Departments and the building industry about the Building Energy Efficiency Standards.
